The July 2018 Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) forms expired on Tuesday, July 31, 2018.
All FMLA processed in August 2018 must be completed on the new version of the form, which has an expiration of August 31, 2018.
According to the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), the purpose of the FMLA form is to certify that employees are eligible to take FMLA leave and inform them of their legal rights.
Please note, the Department of Labor (DOL) is currently renewing FMLA forms on a month-to-month basis. Employment law attorneys speculate that the forms will remain virtually identical to each other but differ in their expiration dates.
Remember to be mindful of the expiration dates on your FMLA forms so you can ensure you’re using the most current version.
